We are already very excited for the U.S. release of
the all-new BMW i3 EV hatchback next month, and we hope that
you are too. Hybrid and electric vehicles enjoy a special kind of popularity
here in California and we think that the addition of the high-end i3 will be
very welcome.
In order to make the i3 as efficient as it is, BMW
engineers and designers had to figure out how to cut a significant amount of
weight from the vehicle. It was eventually decided that the best solution was
to build the entire passenger compartment out of carbon fiber. So today we
wanted to show you the lifecycle of this building material and how it goes from
raw materials into the finished BMW models you will be seeing next
month.
Pretty impressive isn't it? We certainly think so,
and we think you will be even more impressed when you take the time to visit us
here at the BMW of Bakersfield showroom to get all the
details about the i3 and the other new
BMW vehicles in our inventory.
